All research team members must complete the following training
requirements:
- HIPPA General Privacy Issues
- HIPPA & Research or HIPPA Privacy Issues Relating to Research (IRR)
- If you have taken the IRR course, you are not required to take the
new HIPPA and Research course.
- Conflict of Interest and Commitment
- Course on Research Ethics
- Effort Reporting
- Human Subjects Research
- Animal Care and Use
- Clinical Research Billing

1 All PIs of active IRB protocols are required to complete the
Course on Research Ethics (CORE) or its equivalent. Individuals who were not
active PIs as of October 1, 2006 have one year from the date of first IRB
submission to complete the CORE requirement. Fellows must complete CORE by
the end of their fellowship.(for exemption information please
click here)
2 PIs and study team members who have a role in billing for
services provided to participants enrolled in clinical trials are required
to complete this course. When a new research application is submittd in
eIRB, you will be notified by PRA (Prospective Reimbursement Analysis) staff
if you are required to take the Clinical Research Billing Course.
3 NIH or local institution human subjects research module
4 Required of all study team members who are involved in Animal
Research
Training and consultation services
for other aspects of research, such as grant writing and budget
management, are offered through the school's research centers.
